The Remington 572 is a pump-action, 22 caliber rifle that has been in production for over 50 years. With that many years of production, it can be difficult to determine the year that the rifle was manufactured. Remington stamped the barrels on their rifles starting in 1921 with a code that will tell you the year and month that it was created. Since Remington rarely changed a rifle's barrel when they serviced it, the date code is a fairly reliable way to determine the age of the rifle.
